THE ADVANTAGES OF OPEN SOURCE

The choice of technology is not a decision to be taken lightly: to ensure your future flexibility, open-source is often your best bet. The adoption of open-source solutions allows your infrastructure to evolve while maintaining a high level of autonomy in your choice of technology. It also guarantees the maximum interoperability between components and ensures you will be able to manage your resources modularly, allowing you to respond quickly to the changing needs of the market.

PRIVATE, PUBLIC OR HYBRID?

Regardless of the service model (IaaS and PaaS) you choose, it is essential to decide how to manage infrastructure resources such as computing, storage, and networking. The three delivery models respond to different needs:

A Private Cloud signifies that the resources managed by the cloud provider (or by a customer’s IT department) are dedicated to a single customer. It is a common mistake to think that a Private Cloud must be hosted in a proprietary data center and managed by a customer’s IT department.

A Public Cloud is a type of cloud in which the infrastructure components are not reserved for exclusive use but are shared among the various customers. Each customer is assigned a resource pool within which he can operate in perfect autonomy.

A Hybrid Cloud represents an intermediate case with both shared resources and dedicated resources (irrespective of whether they are managed internally or by third parties). In this case, one of the most critical aspects is how the available resources are divided and managed.
